Just dropped by to say HI!

Ahhh! Those damn BD sales. And here I thought Chihaya’s character was “moe” enough to keep those sales up. Yea, this isn’t really the type of series that get that much fandom and attention. I bet you that many dropped it because of the game itself (before even giving it a change).

I’ll keep watching it since I’m really enjoying it so far (up to episode 6 now). Watching Chihaya intensity as she tries her best to achieve her goal is pure love. I gotta say that this series has the right amount of drama (neither too much nor to little) to keep me entertaining for a while.

By the way, I hope you’re doing fine. Working hard and enjoying life (even harder).

After almost a month, I finally got the time to start watching Chihayafuru. And I really like it so far (I’ve only watched up to 5 episodes though). I’m really interested how the main characters will develop as the series progresses and how their love for this karuta game will influence it.

I read that the manga was up to 16 volumes (and still ongoing). I’m not sure how much material Madhouse will be able to animate without going off course with the main storyline (not much I hope). I just hope they’ll do a nice job with it and end it properly (a second season will be most welcome, only if needed).

By the way, episode 5 was great! Especially the very end, where Arata (bike riding) is chasing Chihaya and Taichi (train riding) as they were leaving town. Also, watching Chihaya tomboy-ish behavior as a kid (refereeing to episodes 2-3) was pretty fun (even if she (as a grown-up) stills acts pretty much the same).

That’s sound like fun. I’m a josei fan since the moment I watched Honey and Clover, Nodame and Paradise Kiss, so this probably be up by alley. I’m definitely checking it out as soon as my schedule allows it. Once I do, I’ll let you know. I’m sure I’ll like it though.

Thanks for the heads up! It seems that recently most of the series that are being overlooked end up to be way better shows than those that aren’t. Well, back to work I guess. If only money would grow on trees, then life might be much simpler (but as Himari said to live is punishment in itself). Take care.

As you can see, I already posted mine in here. I was sure it wasn’t gonna grab anyone’s attention, but what can you do. Sometimes fate is cruel, but you gotta deal with it, because I believe sad things happen for a reason, nothing in this world is pointless (heh, ok that sounded kinda Ringo-ish). Right now watching Mirai Nikki (Yuno + Yuki + Yandere Love = Uncertain Future), but I was thinking on picking up another series. I’m between Another, Nisemonogatari, or Rinne no Lagrange, but I’m not sure though. Maybe I should just watch Guilty Crow and see if it’s worth the hype it’s getting...

The series ends around Vol.5 (chapter 21). Some characters from the manga do not appear in the manga, but the core story mostly stays on course. The anime ends with Ganta in prison still without knowing who the “Red Man” is (Shiro split personality).

Yes, since it was Manglobe, I was expecting to see some neat animation work (especially during the fight scenes). Working on two projects at the same time might not have been the best choice for them. In the end, I guess most of their best animators were sent to work on their TWGOK project instead of this one.

By the way, I just finished watching Deadman Wonderland. I wonder if they are planning on making a sequel or this will be the end of it. If you ask me, I was really hoping for something a bit better for a 12 episodes series (especially on the animation department). I think Manglobe did a much better job with The World God Only Knows.

Yea… with all this currently happening in Japan, it’s not surprise that a lot of new series (+ more) have been either cancelled or move into a later date. I still hope that we will be able to see some Deadman Wonderland action either in the far or near future (preferably when things clam down, really…).

But more important, I want to see Japan recovering from all this (earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown... c’mon, give the guys a break).
